Birthdays and Bonfires

There are no pictures to go with this post, but in an attempt to document everything I’m going to make you suffer through commentary! Last Saturday we had a fun day. It was Aaron Taylor’s 30th birthday! Aaron and Dan work(ed) together at Heritage. Aaron had a small party at his in-laws home and then the group moved to Dave and Busters. For those who haven’t been, it is an adult’s Chuck E. Cheese!! Jacob was with us, and he was in heaven. There is a pretty good deal…if you eat dinner in the restaurant you can choose meals that cost $15.99. With the meal, you get a $10 game card to spend in the arcade. So a really nice $6 dinner and $10 worth of entertainment…definitely worth it! (the deal supposedly is over after 5 p.m. but we just asked our waitress to let us do it and she said no problem…don’t be fooled!)
We circled the floor of games trying to figure out which games paid out the most tickets for Jacob’s prize. We were pretty successful because we had almost 500 tickets from our two $10 cards. Unfortunately, we were only able to get a tiny stuffed animal with our winnings :) Jacob was happy!
After D&B, we headed to the Farmer’s house in Anderson (college friends). Natalie was singing with her Dad at Retro night at Madison Park (their church in Anderson). We weren’t able to make the show because of the birthday party, but we went to their house afterwards to meet up with friends. Adam started a bonfire where we all relaxed, shared stories, ate smores, and caught up on life. Dan and I chose to keep Jacob out late (we didn’t get home until 1 a.m.) but it was well worth it. We don’t get enough time with Natalie and Adam, let alone with Hillary, Joel, Amy, and John.
It was a good day to be reminded of the great friends we have and how thankful we are for all of them!
