San Diego Chronicles… Day 6
Posted By: Erin
The Wagoner’s embarked on a 7 day vacation to San Diego, CA. This a chronicle of their trip.
Coronado Island
Friday, November 27th, 2009, day 6 in San Diego. Coronado Island is located just off the San Diego Bay. It is accessible by a bridge and is famous for its historic hotel. We were very impressed with the beach and not so impressed with the hotel! The beach was pretty empty compared to the tourist-packed hotel. The morning was gorgeous with HUGE waves to watch. There were a few surfers braving the cold water, but Jacob seemed unfazed by the ridiculously cold waves. Highlight…a seagull pooped on Dan’s towel :)

Beach fun!

As we were on the beach, clouds started to roll in. We decided to pack up and explore the rest of the island. It was a quaint, little town with a lot of eclectic shops. We did one of our favorite things, eat ice cream :)

On the drive back to the Bay, I took this picture of the bridge…it was impressive.
Anthony’s Fish Grotto
We had dinner at Anthony’s Fish Grotto. It was located right on the Bay, and we were able to watch cruise ships come in and out while we ate a delicious seafood dinner. Dan had his Colt’s hat on, and he caught a lot of grief from the waiters! Hopefully they didn’t spit in our food :)

After dinner we drove around downtown San Diego to get a better feel for the city. It had a very similar feel to downtown Indianapolis. Clean…Modern…Fun…Pretty.
Back to the condo for a good night’s sleep!
