36 Weeks
Hooray for 36 weeks! Next week I am full-term, and I’m getting so excited! I had my 36 week appointment last week, and Dan was able to come for the first time since my ultrasound. He loved hearing the heartbeat again (right around 140). I measured exactly 36 weeks, I had my strep-B test, and we were able to go over a few questions with the doctor.
I still would like to be pregnant the full 40 weeks so that I have more time off this summer. I’ve never been a stay-at-home mom, and I would love the opportunity to be home with the boys while Jacob is out of school. On the other hand, each day that I work 13+ hours, I really just want to go into labor, see my baby’s face, and be done with tax season!! I suppose I can suck it up for 4 more weeks :)
Dan and I also went to a one-day, 3 hour birthing class. It was a good experience, reminded us of a few things we’ve forgotten, and helped me feel more prepared. We went on a tour of the hospital and now feel comfortable with where we are going and what we are supposed to do when I go into labor.
What has changed in the last four weeks? Dan finds it very humorous to watch me try to stand up from sitting on the floor :) I’m having daily Braxton Hicks contractions. I’m a lot more tired (not sure if that is tax season or baby or both). I’m swelling more. I’m compulsively making lists, washing clothes, picking up, and trying to “prepare.” AKA – I’m driving my sweet husband crazy!
Me, Harper and my blimp (if it was a torpedo last time, it’s a blimp this time!!)
