Lacrosse
Jacob is taking on a new sport! He attended a lacrosse camp at HCS last summer, and he really enjoyed it. When Heritage decided to start a club 3rd/4th grade lacrosse team this year, he was very excited about playing. Dan and I know NOTHING about lacrosse, so it is a learning experience for us. Of course, it is another sport that has a lot of expensive equipment…I’m going to sign him up for swimming next!
This is a running sport, and Jacob has come home from practices exhausted. I love it :) During games, Jacob has mostly been playing defense. He has also played attack (similar to offense). He hasn’t played goalie yet. I can’t say I blame him…those lacrosse balls are hard and come flying into the goal FAST!
Since this is the first time most of the boys have played lacrosse, there is a lot of learning yet to be done…it can be a little painful to watch the games because catching the ball is pretty difficult. Consistent with the Heritage moto: all that matters is that the boys have fun and learn :)

Jacob calling for the ball
Dan and I were entertained by the height difference!
leading the team down the field
trying to steal the ball
a very common sight: all the boys trying to scoop the ball off the field
Brennan came out to support his brother (first use of the Chicco car seat stroller – LOVED IT!)
smiling in his sleep :) he was proud of his brother
