In the event you’ve been trapped under a rock or sequestered from the Internet and modern media for the past 6 months, you may have missed an incredibly popular song from the Australian rock band, Gotye. This song is titled, “Somebody That I Used to Know” and features New Zealander/now Australia based vocalist, Kimbra. The song and subsequent video have garnered an amazing amount of attention on the Interwebs and abound. Attention to the tune of over 50 million views on YouTube and countless cover versions by inspired/envious artists.

This track from Gotye’s repertoire inspired one particularly popular cover version, birthing a new wave of interest and success in its own right. The group is Walk Off The Earth, an indie band from Ontario, Canada. The’ve developed a strong following thanks to their dynamic performance style and equally impressive musical ability. Their take on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” featuring Sarah Blackwood, is not only a strong rendition of an already amazing song, but a lot of fun to watch. Apparently 37.5 million people on YouTube feel the same way.
